Phil Tufnell
Phil was born in 1966 in Barnet and is best known for being a member of the Middlesex and England cricket team. During his career of over a decade with Middlesex, he took more than 1,000 first class wickets. He was a good bowler but only an adequate fielder and batter which made him a luxury player according to some commentators. His nickname was "The Cat" not for his cat like abilities on the pitch but more for sleeping in the dressing room.
He retired from professional cricket in 2003 to further his career in the media, he appeared in the second series of I'm a Celebrity and was the one of the team captains in the popular panel show They Think It's All Over.
I'm a Celebrity
From the start of the show Phil was down as the bookies favourite to win giving him great celebrity odds to win and sure enough he was crowned King of the Jungle of the 2nd series beating narrowly beating ex footballer John Fashanu, this was helped by his ability during the bush tucker trials to eat amongst other wriggly delicacy’s were beetle larvae, greens ants and some fine looking meal worms.
Since leaving the jungle Phil has gone on to appear as a summariser on BBC Radio's Test Match Special and he is now a team captain on the BBC show A Question of Sport. He also makes regular appearances on the One Show as a field reporter and for comic relief he appeared in Sport Relief Does The Apprentice
