Timmy Mallett

Timmy Mallett is known to millions of children thanks to his Saturday morning TV called "The Wide Awake Club" or "Wacaday" which he presented from 1984 and ran until 1992.   One of the main parts of the show was a quiz show called Malletts Mallet where contestants were asked questions and if they got the wrong answer they were hit over the head with Malletts Mallet, a foam mallet.  The show was such a success that during the school holidays it was made part of TV:AM's daily show to help occupy children in the morning.

Timmy was removed from the Jungle on the 30th November 2008 after losing a bush tucker trial to fellow contestant Brian Paddick.

Pop Career

Mallett used his time and fame on the Wide Awake Club to try his had as a pop star under the guise of the group Bombalurina which consisted of Mallet and two female dancers Dawn and Annie Dunkley they released the single "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" which sold over 1,000,000 copies and went to number one for three weeks.

Life After Wacaday

Following the cancellation of The Wide Awake Club in 1992 he appeared in the show on The Children's Channel's called Around the World in 80 seconds, he played Captain Everything. Mallett created his own production company called Brilliant TV which created the show Timmy Towers for CITV, which starred Mark Speight. In 2004 he was a backup contestant for I'm A Celebrity 2004 but did not feature in the main show.
