Esther Rantzen

Esther is a television present and is best known for her role as hosting the long running BBC consumer programme That's Life, which she worked on from its inception in 1973 to 1994 when it was decommissioned.

Although she was one of the favourites she was voted off the show on December 1st 2008.

Childline Charity

She also famously helped set up the Childline charity which originally was setup as special 48 hour phone line but due to the amount of calls it was decided to set up a dedicated call centre, this resulted in Childline having 12 bases around the UK and Ireland, it has since merged with the NSPCC.

Personal Life

Esther was married in 1977 to television producer Desmond Wilcox who died of a coronary heart disease in 2008. Together they had three children including Rebecca Wilcox who appears in the Channel 4 programme How to Look Good Naked.
