Bush Tucker Trials

Celebrity Bush Tucker TrialsSince the show first appeared on our screens in 2002 one of the most looked forward/most turned away from events from the viewers angle but most feared from that of a celebrity are the bush tucker trials, each year the producers have tried to out do the previous years show and on most counts have succeeded.

The celebrity that gets to perform the trial has been voted to do so by the viewing public, who have either called a premium rate telephone number or pressed their red interactive button on their Sky/Freeview remote control. How well a celebrity performs here will affect their chances of winning the show and here they can see their celebrity odds being either increased or reduced. Here is a quick look at some of the most memorable bush tucker trials from past shows.

The Jungle Shower

On series one of the show friend of the Royal Family,  Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was lucky enough to share a shower that literally covered her in hundreds of bugs, she bravely completed the task and won her fellow celebrities some extra rations.

A Bugs Meal

The camps two glamour ladies Kerry and Katie Price were given a treat to redeemer when they given a menu of bugs to eat including mealworms, cockroaches, green ants, witchetty grubs and fish eyes, both ladies did really well neither of them had strong enough stomachs to eat the fish eyeballs, but they consumed enough to win extra meals for all the contestants.

Rats, Rats and Rats

Jennie Bond in series 3 (see the 2004 review) may have come second to the Queen of the Jungle, Kerry McFadden (Katona now) the former BBC Royal correspondent was buried in a water filled coffin just a few dozen rats for company. To concentrate on her task she sang throughout the task and called out her daughters name. When it was over she quipped "Is my mascara still on?"
