I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here 2002

The show started on August 25th 2002 and ran until September 8th, in total there were 8 contestants. The first ever I'm a celebrity was won by former radio one disc jockey Tony Blackburn, IT Girl Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was the runner up.  The show was an instant hit with viewers who warmed to Tony throughout the course of the show.

Some of the most memorable events during this years show were the raging arguments involving Nigel Benn, Darren Day, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson, Christine Hamilton and Rhona Cameron who showed how feisty some women can be without their toiletries!   Also getting viewers interest was the evolving relationship between the IT girl Tara and serial love rat Darren Day.
